Juventus claimed a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Borussia Dortmund in Turin.

Carlos Tevez opened the scoring for the host early on, but Marco Reus quickly responded to hand the visitors a potentially crucial away goal.

However, it was Juventus who earned the win on the night thanks to Alvaro Morata's goal on the stroke of half time.

Hello everyone! The Champions League continues tonight as Juventus host Borussia Dortmund in Turin in the first leg of their last-16 tie. Stay right here for the build-up and live text coverage on what promises to be a very exciting night.

Just the mention of these two sides is enough to get any football fan excited. Two of the biggest clubs in Europe going head to head, but they're in very different positions this season. Juventus look to be on the way to another Serie A title, while Dortmund are only just beginning to pull away from the relegation scrap in the Bundesliga. Does that make a difference in this tie?

You may remember that this a repeat of the 1997 Champions League final. Dortmund triumphed 3-1 in Munich 18 years ago to lift the famous trophy, despite heading into the match as underdogs. The man of the match that night? Former Aston Villa and Norwich City manager Paul Lambert, who kept the legendary Zinedine Zidane as quiet as possible.

As previously mentioned, Juventus are once again looking dominant in Serie A and a fourth successive title looks likely, but improving their Champions League record has proved to be more difficult. The Bianconeri have reached the quarter-finals just once since 2006, and that is quite simply not good enough for a club like Juventus. Massimiliano Allegri is under huge pressure to take his side into the next round at least.

The Champions League has served as a welcome distraction in a disappointing season for Jurgen Klopp and his Dortmund side, but the mood has been lifted by three successive Bundesliga wins. As they continue to pull away from the relegation zone in bottom three in Germany, Klopp has urged his players to forget about their domestic form tonight.

"It will take a while before we find ourselves in a different situation in the Bundesliga," he told reporters in the pre-match press conference. "Until then, the pressure remains. The Champions League is a whole different story."

JUVENTUS: Buffon, Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Evra, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pogba, Vidal, Tevez, Morata
SUBS: Storari, Caceres, Ogbonna, Padoin, Pereyra, Coman, Llorente

The good news for the hosts is that Arturo Vidal is fit enough to return from a groin problem, and he takes his place in a midfield which also includes Claudio Marchisio, Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo. Alvaro Morata wins the battle to start alongside Carlos Tevez in attack, with Fernando Llorente settling for a spot on the bench.

DORTMUND: Weidenfeller, Piszczek, Sokratis, Hummels, Schmelzer, Gundogan, Sahin, Mkhitaryan, Reus, Aubameyang, Immobile
SUBS: Langerak, Ginter, Kirch, Kagawa, Kuba, Kehl, Ramos

Captain Mats Hummels is back in the Dortmund defence, while there is a slight surprise up top as Ciro Immobile starts against one of his former clubs. That should see Marco Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang provide support for the Italian forward. Kevin Kampl and Neven Subotic both miss out.

It's a very positive team selection from Klopp, who will be eager to take an away goal back to Signal Iduna Park for the second leg. Immobile's inclusion is an interesting one, especially considering Aubameyang's form as a centre forward in recent weeks. Mkhitaryan has often struggled since moving to Dortmund last summer, so the pressure is on him to deliver the goods on a big night. As always, Reus is the key man for the visitors.

Can Dortmund follow the example of their rivals this evening? Turin is one of the toughest places to visit in European football, there's no doubt about that.

There is another very big game on tonight, and you can also follow live text coverage of Manchester City vs. Barcelona on Sports Mole. We're all over the Champions League tonight, so you won't miss a thing!

Despite the attacking lineup selected by Klopp, star man Reus admits that it could be a difficult night for the Dortmund forwards, and he has underlined the importance of scoring an away goal this evening.

"It's going to be about which team is more focused, which team has more desire," Reus told reporters. "We have to use the few chances we are going to get against such a good defensive team. We want to get a good result for the second leg."

STAT: I mentioned Juve's impressive home record earlier, and it really is something to scare visiting sides. The defeat to Bayern in April 2013 was their last loss at the Juventus Stadium. It's been 46 games since they tasted defeat in front of their home supporters.

PREDICTION: It could be down to who risks the most tonight. Juventus are so impressive at home, but if Dortmund succeed with their high pressing game, Allegri's side will find it tonight. However, I'm going to back the hosts to nick a 2-1 win.

KEY BATTLE: In games like this, there's always one area which can ultimately decide the result. For me, it will be the battle between Hummels and Tevez. The Dortmund centre back is usually one of the most calm defenders around, and that nerve will be tested by Tevez, who will drop deep and move out wide in an attempt to unsettle the World Cup winner. How Hummels copes with the Argentine is going to be vital.

Andrea Pirlo is always a key man for this Juventus side, and he has claimed that a clean sheet is imperative for the hosts ahead of a tricky trip to Germany for the second leg.

"Borussia Dortmund are a side to be feared, as we see what they've done in the Champions League," he told Sky Sport Italia. "The first leg will be fundamental and we must try to win without conceding a goal."

STAT: Jurgen Klopp takes charge of a team in a UEFA competition for the 50th time this evening. The pressure is on him to improve Dortmund's standing in the Bundesliga, but can he lead them to success in Europe?

We're almost ready for the action in Turin. The players are in the tunnel, and there's just the Champions League anthem and pre-match handshakes to get out of the way.

Dortmund will get the game underway. Incredible noise from the home fans, but there's plenty of support for the visitors, too.

Juve's diamond means the midfield is very congested in the early stages. Dortmund unleash the first effort of the game when Pirlo loses possession to Immobile, who fires just over from 25 yards.

Tevez is furious with the referee when Schmelzer appears to chop him down on the edge of the box. No free kick, decides the official, but the signs were promising for the hosts after Pogba had found space in midfield to start the move.

It's very scrappy in midfield. The referee appears eager to let the game flow, but he's already missed a couple of fouls. Neither side have been able to keep possession for an extended spell early on.

There's been a lack of options for the midfielders so far. Dortmund are keen to put pressure on Pirlo, who somehow manages to earn some space before seeing his through ball cut out by the visiting defence.

A Morata cross is deflected into the path of Pogba, who decides against shooting and picks out Evra. His cross is too deep, but the hosts keep the pressure on to win a corner, which is eventually cleared.

I never thought I'd type this, but Pirlo has just displayed one of the worst pieces of control you'll ever see in midfield. His inability to bring the ball down gifts possession to Immobile, who is eventually tackled by Evra and the free kick goes to the Frenchman. It's not long before Pirlo is back to his best as he starts another attack from deep.

We've seen very little of Reus in the early stages, which should be a concern for Dortmund. He's being forced to drop deeper as results, but the visitors can't get him involved. An extended spell in possession eventually comes to an end when Aubameyang's speculative effort is blocked on the edge of the box.

GOAL! JUVENTUS 1-0 DORTMUND (TEVEZ)

It's the home side who score with a classic counter attack. Tevez combines with Morata to release his strike partner on the left wing. Morata's effort from a tight angle is blocked by Weidenfeller, who can't push it to safety, which allows Tevez to tap home from close range. It's poor goalkeeping, but Juventus won't mind!

Dortmund don't appear to be sure how to attack the hosts. Schmelzer doesn't even look up before hitting a cross straight at the first man. Reus regains possession to deliver a cross which is just too strong for Aubameyang. Juventus are looking comfortable at the back.

Morata has started this game very well. His pressure produces an error from Hummels, and only a last-ditch challenge from Schmelzer prevents him from going through on goal.

GOAL! JUVENTUS 1-1 DORTMUND (REUS)

He's been very quiet early on, but it's Reus who finds a crucial equaliser for the visitors. There doesn't appear to be any danger until a Chiellini slip gifts the ball to Reus, who sprints through unchallenged before sending Buffon the wrong way with a fine finish.

UPDATE: Barcelona currently lead Man City at the Etihad thanks to a 16th-minute goal from Luis Suarez.

Tevez does brilliantly on the byline to somehow deliver a cross, but Morata's optimistic header drifts wide from 15 yards.

This is turning into a brilliant game to watch. Dortmund are pressing high up the pitch, but the Juventus midfield are responding impressively. There's space behind the visiting midfield, and it could come down to whether the hosts can exploit that.

Pogba and Vidal have been on the fringes of the game, but they look capable of slicing open the Dortmund defence when they do get involved. It's not what they like, but they could be better off playing from a wider position in this diamond. Vidal wins a free kick on the left wing when Hummels foolishly jumps into a challenge.

CHANCE! Pirlo delivers the free kick to the back post, and Bonucci climbs highest to meet the ball with a powerful header which sails over.

There's some concern for Piszczek when he goes down under a foul from Pogba, but he should be fine after a bit of treatment on his ankle. Klopp will hope it's nothing serious.

UPDATE: Suarez has scored his second of the night to give Barcelona a 2-0 lead at the Etihad Stadium, and Manchester City already have a huge mountain to climb in that tie.

SUBSTITUTION: Piszczek is unable to continue due to what appears to be an ankle injury, and Matthias Ginter is on to replace him at right-back.

Crucial defending from Bonucci as he clears a cross from Aubameyang with two Dortmund players waiting behind him in the box. If the visitors can get the ball to Aubameyang and Reus more often, they can trouble this Juventus defence even more.

SAVE! Buffon is usually one of the calmest men around, but he looks very uncomfortable while parrying a Mkhitaryan strike. Luckily the veteran goalkeeper is able to gather the loose ball.

There's trouble for Juventus now. Pirlo has walked off without waiting for a substitute with an injury. That's a huge blow for the hosts.

SUBSTITUTION: Pirlo cannot continue, and Roberto Pereyra is his replacement in midfield.

It looks like Pereyra will play on the left of the diamond, with Vidal taking up more of a central position in the last few moments. It's Dortmund who are dominating possession at the moment. They look like the home side. We've seen very little of Morata and Tevez since they linked up for the opener.

Immobile is rolling around on the floor after being stood on by Vidal, who isn't impressed with the Dortmund forward. There's definitely some frustration creeping into the home side's game, and the hosts are voicing their concern, too. Dortmund remain on top without making too many chances.

You've got to credit this Dortmund midfield. Pogba is visibly angered when he loses the ball under pressure from the visitors. There's just no space to work, and Tevez is being forced to drop deeper to get involved.

GOAL! JUVENTUS 2-1 DORTMUND (MORATA)

Incredible. Juventus have been forced to chase shadows for the last few minutes, but it's the hosts who take the lead for the second time. Tevez drives forward from midfield before picking out Pogba, whose cross from the left is converted by Morata. The former Real Madrid man had all the time in the world to finish off a lovely move.

The injuries to Piszczek and Pirlo means there will be two minutes added on.

HALF TIME: JUVENTUS 2-1 DORTMUND

A very entertaining first half comes to an end in Turin. Dortmund have been very impressive as the away side, but Juventus struck twice either side of a Reus goal to earn the lead at the break. Will Dortmund take more risks in the second half to search for another away goal?

Klopp will be frustrated to be behind, but he will surely be happy with the football his side have played. Gundogan and Sahin have been excellent in midfield, and they've dominated possession for long spells. Juventus will improve, and the temptation to hold onto this result must be on the mind. However, a draw tonight really would put Dortmund in the driving seat.

It's all about risk and reward for both sides at this stages. Juventus lead and will be happy. A 3-1 win could put them out of sight, but conceding two away goals could prove to be the difference ahead of a tough second leg at Signal Iduna Park. Allegri's side must be smart in the second half.

The players are back out for the second half. Juventus will get the game back underway. Dortmund have made a second change, with Oliver Kirch replacing Papastathopoulos.

Kirch has settled in at right back, with Ginter partnering Hummels in central defence. It's unclear whether Papastathopoulos, but you would have to assume the Greek defender was struggling with some problem.

YELLOW CARD! Vidal has committed one too many fouls and he goes into the book after bringing down Reus.

Schmelzer's free kick is met by a Juventus midfielder, but Kirch latches onto the loose ball to fire a hopeful half volley wide.

Neither side have been able to keep the ball well early in the second half. It's been a bit frantic in midfield, and that should suit Dortmund more.

A corner causes problems for the Dortmund defence. Morata then somehow manages to smash the ball over from a few yards out, and he's only spared embarrassment by the offside flag.

Juventus continue to apply the pressure, and Bonucci is agonisingly close to reaching Marchisio's corner with a header in the six-yard box. Weidenfeller didn't leave the floor, and he's lucky to collect at the second attempt.

Better from Dortmund. They keep the ball for an extended period on the edge of the box. Aubameyang threatens to shoot before playing in Immobile, whose effort from a tight angle is easily stopped by Buffon.

It's not been a great night so far for Hummels. He gives the ball away once again and Tevez leads the attack for the hosts. A cross reaches Pogba at the back post, but his poor touch allows Dortmund to recover.

Kirch goes down holding his face when he's unable Mkhitaryan's through ball. There was some contact with Pogba, but it certainly wasn't a foul. Dortmund need more from Mkhitaryan, who has been on the fringes of the game all evening.

Pogba is starting to see more of the ball, and that's good news for the hosts. A dangerous cross into the box hits two heads before eventually falling to Tevez, who can't keep a difficult half volley down.

Superb from Bonucci as he switches play with a wonderful pass to Morata. His cross is delivered into a brilliant area, but Schmelzer manages to clear. Juventus are bossing the game at the moment.

A free kick into the Dortmund box looks to be drifting out of play, but Lichtsteiner needlessly heads behind for a corner. Luckily for the hosts, Pogba clears at the front post.

Dortmund clear another corner following some good work on the wing by Aubameyang, who is certainly more of a threat playing down the middle. Immobile has struggled to make an impact as a centre forward so far.

UPDATE: Sergio Aguero has pulled a goal back for City, and they now trail Barcelona 2-1. Is there a glimmer of hope for the Premier League champions?

CHANCE! Juventus are inches away from a huge third goal. Marchisio drives at the Dortmund defence before laying the ball off to Tevez on the edge of the box. The Argentine's first touch is perfect, but his low strike takes a deflection off Hummels on the way to drifting just wide.

Another half chance for the hosts as Chiellini heads over from a corner. It's Allegri's side who are doing most of the pressing now. Dortmund will probably take this result.

The ball sits up perfectly for Immobile 25 yards from goal, and the former Juve strike hits a half volley which flies just over. Buffon had it covered, in fairness.

SUBSTITUTION: Dortmund make their final change as Jakub Blaszczykowski comes on to replace Immobile. That move will see Aubameyang play in the middle late on.

It's been another frustrating night for Mkhitaryan, and he frustrates a few teammates by dragging a shot wide from 25 yards. Dortmund look happy to operate on the counter now. A goal for either side in the closing stages could be very important.

SAVE! Tevez is still a threat for the hosts as he cuts into some space on the edge of the box before forcing Weidenfeller into a decent save. Chiellini meets the corner which follows, but he can only head over.

Hummels gets a crucial touch on the ball as Juventus looked to make the most of a three-on-two situation. It's not been his best night, but that was an excellent piece of defending.

YELLOW CARD! Reus finds some space as Dortmund look to launch a counter attack, and Pereyra picks up a booking for a blatant foul.

Tevez gives the ball away in a dangerous position. Blaszczykowski delivers the cross from the wing, but it's headed over by Hummels, who had stayed up following a corner. Bonucci takes a knock to the head, but he should be fine to continue.

Dortmund are beginning to grow in confidence again. However, a promising move is wasted when Schmelzer fires over from 30 yards. Why didn't he cross? I'll never know.

CHANCE! What an opportunity for Juventus. Marchisio picks out Morata, who turns before playing the perfect through ball. Pereyra latches onto the ball in the box, but he can only roll an effort a few inches wide of the post. The second leg would have had a very different feel if he'd scored there.

SUBSTITUTION: Juventus make another change as Simone Padoin replaces Vidal.

SUBSTITUTION: One more change for Allegri, with French teenager Kingsley Coman coming on to replace the brilliant Tevez.

Poor from Kirch. Coman gives the ball away and Dortmund have men forward on the counter. However, Kirch fails to pick out any of his teammates with a poor cross. Three minutes of stoppage time to be played.

Dortmund push back Juventus, but another opportunity is gone when Schmelzer slices a cross out of play from a decent position.

It looks like Juve are going to hold on for a win in the first leg. It would leave this tie delicately poised at the halfway stage.

FULL TIME: JUVENTUS 2-1 DORTMUND

It's all over in Turin. Juventus will take a lead into the second leg, and they will be very happy with that, but Dortmund will still be confident after claiming a crucial away goal. That's all from our live coverage, but make sure you keep an eye out for analysis and ratings from both of tonight's Champions League games. Goodnight.
