Paul Pogba fires Juventus to victory

Juventus edge past Bologna 1-0 at the Juventus Stadium courtesy of Paul Pogba's goal.

Juventus have extended their lead at the top of the Serie A table with a slender 1-0 victory over Bologna.

The game's first two chances fell to midfielder Paul Pogba, who forced goalkeeper Gianluca Curci into a fine save on five minutes before flashing a header over the bar shortly after.

Andrea Pirlo and Sebastian Giovinco both went close for the Bianconeri before and after the half-time whistle - both denied denied by Curci once more.

Having been twice denied earlier in the contest, it was third time lucky for Pogba, who fired the opening goal past the Italian shot-stopper from distance on 64 minutes.

Mauricio Isla should have added a second moments later when he was picked out inside the box, but he was denied by Curci, who was in inspired form.

Juve had another opportunity to wrap up the game late on, but Pogba was unable to find a way past the Bologna shot-stopper once more, ensuring the game ended 1-0.
