Claudio Ranieri: 'David Beckham is an amazing player'

Claudio Ranieri believes that an "amazing player" like David Beckham would improve his Monaco team.

Monaco head coach Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he would be interested in bringing David Beckham to the club.

Beckham has confirmed that he will leave Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the current MLS season and reports have linked the former England captain with a move to Monaco.

Ranieri said: "He is an amazing player, intelligent, with a very good character.

"He is also a champion. I want to win, and my team too. The more champions we have, the bigger the chances to win are.

"Could you imagine what Beckham could do to a young player like Nampalys Mendy, what he could bring to him?"
