Las Palmas have won their first game of the season by beating Champions League side Sevilla 2-0 at home.
The promoted side sent a warning to their opponents within the first minute as Sergio Araujo hit a shot from outside the box, but his effort was straight at Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico.
Sevilla came close midway through the first half through Coke but Las Palmas went ahead moments later, with Roque Mesa receiving the ball inside the box before turning quickly to fire a strike low beyond the reach of Rico in goal.
Unai Emery's side piled on the pressure in the second half, with Timothee Kolodziejczak missing a header from close range before Jose Antonio Reyes saw his shot blocked by a desperate Las Palams defence.
The home side scored a second with 15 minutes to go, with Antolin Alcaraz finding himself unmarked before heading home Araujo's cross.
Coke thought that he had pulled one back but his strike was well saved in the top corner by Javier Varas Herrera as his side held on for the three points.
Winless Sevilla remain rooted to the bottom of La Liga while Las Palmas jump up into 12th in the table.
