Noel Hunt departs Leeds United

Leeds United cancel Irish striker Noel Hunt's contract with the club six months early.

Leeds United have confirmed that they have terminated Noel Hunt's contract with the club by mutual consent.

The striker arrived at Elland in 2013, but he only made 22 appearances for the Whites and spent the latter part of 2014 on loan with Ipswich Town, for whom he scored one goal.

Having recently returned to Leeds, both parties have decided that it would be best for all concerned to part ways six months before his deal was due to expire.

A number of Championship clubs have since been linked with a move for the Irishman.
