The visitors had a chance to open the scoring just five minutes in when David Nugent took the ball in for Andy King, but his finish went just inches wide.
Bolton started to see more of the ball as the opening spell progressed, but Lukas Jutkiewicz's first sight at goal resulted in a comfortable save for Kasper Schmeichel.
Riyad Mahrez proved a threat for the Foxes, testing Alex Bogdan with a swerving strike from range before sending a cross in for Nugent, who could only head wide.
The home keeper continued to come under pressure with quick-fire efforts from Danny Drinkwater and Ritchie de Laet just after the half-hour mark, but he was able to force the ball out for a corner.
Mahrez and Drinkwater both had further efforts from range shortly before the half-time whistle, while Zat Knight almost turned the ball into his own net while defending a corner, but the league leaders were unable to break the deadlock before the break.
