Leicester City captain Wes Morgan: Newcastle United loss "hard to take"

Leicester captain Wes Morgan admits that the 1-0 loss to Newcastle is "hard to take" after Gabriel Obertan's first Premier League goal since 2012 snatched United victory.

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has admitted that their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United is "hard to take".

Gabriel Obertan's first Premier League goal since 2012 snatched the Magpies a first victory of the season at St James' Park and eased the pressure on Alan Pardew.

Morgan feels that Leicester were in the ascendancy before Obertan's sucker-punch and were unfortunate to come away from Tyneside empty handed this afternoon.

"Is defeat hard to take? Absolutely," he told reporters. "The first half was pretty even and in the second half we were starting to turn the screw and pile on the pressure. So to concede from our attack is hard to take.

"We had the corner, had the second phase as well but they won back the ball and, credit to them, they took the most of it. But it's hard to take."

The result sees the Foxes drop to 13th in the table ahead of their trip to Swansea City next weekend.
