Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy defends manager Claude Puel, saying that the Foxes players have been responsible for the club's poor form in the Premier League.

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has suggested that the players have been responsible for the club's poor form in the Premier League.

After a run of four defeats in five matches, reports have claimed that manager Claude Puel could be sacked at the end of the season, despite only arriving in October.

However, after the Foxes returned to winning ways with victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night, Vardy has defended Puel and says that it is up to the first-team squad to follow the Frenchman's instructions.

The 31-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "We have got to look at ourselves and the way we have been playing, and it hasn't been good enough. He wants us to move the ball quicker and we did that tonight."

Leicester have ensured that they will not finish any lower than ninth place in the standings after Sunday's last-day fixtures.
