Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson dismisses Islam Slimani speculation

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson rejects speculation linking the club with a summer move for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has played down speculation linking the club with Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.

It was reported last month that the Foxes were leading the chase to land the 26-year-old Algeria international.

However, Pearson has distanced the newly-promoted Premier League side from a move for Slimani.

"If there has been a bid gone in I know nothing about it," he is quoted as saying by the Leicester Mercury. "It is pretty cold, that one. In terms of hot or cold that one is freezing."

Leicester return to pre-season action on Tuesday when they travel to Rotherham United.
