Bayern Munich have reportedly identified Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone and Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp as the top two targets to fill their managerial vacancy.
The Bundesliga champions dispensed with the services of Carlo Ancelotti last week after a relatively poor start to the season left them three points off the pace in the table at the time.
According to Marca, Bayern have made Simeone "the firm favourite" to succeed Ancelotti at the Allianz Arena following his impressive work for Atletico, which has seen him lead them to the La Liga title and two Champions League finals.
The German side are thought to face serious competition for Simeone from Inter Milan and big-spending Paris Saint-Germain for his signature, however, and the newspaper claims that should they fail to land the Argentine next summer, they will turn their attentions to Reds manager Klopp.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund boss is about to celebrate two years in charge at Anfield but has come under pressure in recent weeks following a run of form that has seen them pick up just one win in seven attempts.
Willy Sagnol is in interim charge of Bayern until the end of the current campaign.
