Derby County striker Darren Bent has said that Liverpool's work-rate ensured that they 'could not get anything going' in their EFL Cup clash on Tuesday night.
Liverpool eased to a 3-0 victory over the Championship side thanks to goals from Ragnar Klavan, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi, and Bent was full of praise for how the Merseyside giants performed at the iPro Stadium.
The 32-year-old told Sky Sports News: "What really impressed me about them last night was how hard they work. Every time we got the ball and tried to keep it, they were on us and trying to win it back after five or 10 seconds.
"They made it difficult for us to get anything going. We played as well as we could and gave it a good go but at the end of the day, it just wasn't good enough."
Bent played the full 90 minutes in the East Midlands but he scored just once in 11 appearances this season.
