Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has admitted that he has been "surprised" by the level of James Milner's performances so far this season.
The 30-year-old has been deployed in an unfamiliar left-back role under Jurgen Klopp this term, but has played his part in a bright start to the campaign for the Reds.
Milner already has four goals to his name this season - all of which have come from the spot - and Can praised the penalty-taking abilities of the former Manchester City man.
"I'm young, but I haven't seen in any of my teams so far such a good penalty taker. In training, every ball is in the net. He's a very, very good penalty taker," he told the club's official website.
"It has surprised a lot of people, because it's not easy to play at left-back from midfield.
"But Millie did it very well and I think he has scored more goals than last year in this time. He's a very important player for us. He has to keep going like that and the team has to keep going like that."
Milner has now scored all seven of the penalties he has taken for Liverpool.
