Kenny Dalglish criticises the lack of consistency in refereeing decisions after seeing Jay Spearing sent off in Liverpool's 1-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish believes managers are becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of consistency in refereeing decisions.

The Reds boss feels his side were on the wrong end of a decision tonight, when Lee Friend sent off Jay Spearing in their 1-0 defeat at Fulham.

"He got the ball first. It is not his fault somebody is standing there. Sometimes you see them result in a red and sometimes they get away with it," said Dalglish.

"I think the problem that everyone has [with referees] at the moment is that the level of acceptance has interpretation and that is not consistent.

"That is what upsets people," he said.

With the result, the Merseyside club now sit five points adrift of Chelsea in fourth spot and eight behind Spurs in third place in the Premier League table.
