Frank de Boer: 'Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool jobs would suit me'

Ajax manager Frank de Boer confirms that he has previously been pursued by Liverpool and Spurs and expresses an interest in managing either club when he decides to leave Holland.

Ajax manager Frank de Boer has confirmed that he has previously been approached for the managerial positions at both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

On both occasions, the 43-year-old chose to stay in Holland, but he has now expressed an interest in taking charge at either club in the future when he feels that his time in Ajax has come to a natural end.

He told BBC Sport: "Yes, Tottenham called my manager [after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked] and asked if it was a possibility. I said no, it is not the right moment - it is the middle of the league."

Referring also to Liverpool, he added: "Those two clubs are club that I think in the future I could be a manager of. I think the history of the clubs and what you can do with the team is my cup of tea.

"I'm not really thinking about it because I'm very happy here at Ajax. I'm not in a hurry to leave because everybody is still happy with me. I step in my car with a big smile to go to the club. I don't think I'm finished here but there will come a time when I don't like it anymore. Then we have to go both ways and it will depend on my perspective."

De Boer has guided Ajax to three consecutive Dutch titles.
