Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has claimed that getting Daniel Sturridge back from injury will help to turn the team's season around.
The England striker, who has been out of action since May after undergoing hip surgery, returned to full training last week as he steps up his recovery.
Gerrard, who left Anfield last summer to join Lox Angeles Galaxy, has suggested that the Reds are missing the goals that Sturridge brings to the side.
"I think it's vital Daniel Sturridge is back playing and firing as soon as possible," Gerrard told Radio City.
"I think the key is the partnership he forms with (Christian) Benteke because if they click together there's plenty more big games to finish high up in the league."
Liverpool currently sit 10th in the Premier League after taking seven points from their first five games.
