Liverpool's Under-21 coach Alex Inglethorpe is pleased with Michael Ngoo's performances during his loan spell with Hearts.

Liverpool Under-21s coach Alex Inglethorpe has praised Michael Ngoo's performances during his loan spell in the Scottish Premier League.

The 20-year-old joined Hearts in January until the end of the season, scoring four goals in 11 games so far, including a brace against Ross County last week.

Inglethorpe told Liverpoolfc.com: "He's a goal machine in Scotland, isn't he? He's such a good lad as well. I only had a couple of brief months working with him when I arrived here but I loved every moment of it.

"I thought he took both goals really well. The first goal was a proper centre forward's header and the second one he smashed in from outside the box and we know he can do that.

"No disrespect to the U21 league but there's probably a bit of a gap between that and the first team so often that gap is bridged by a decent loan spell."

Hearts face Kilmarnock this afternoon.
