Jurgen Klopp tells Jerome Sinclair: 'Education more important than money'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp tells wantaway striker Jerome Sinclair that gaining an education, not money, is the most important thing at this stage of his career.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has warned Jerome Sinclair not to get too hung up on money at this stage of his career.

The 19-year-old striker is highly rated by the club but is yet to sign a contract extension, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Spain this summer, while Watford have also been credited with an interest, but Klopp believes that the most important thing at this stage of his career will be to gain an education.

"It's not important to get the highest wages of your career in your first year. It's important to get an education," Klopp told The Times.

Sinclair, who is Liverpool's youngest-ever player having made his debut just six days after his 16th birthday, could be in line to start Wednesday's FA Cup third-round replay against Exeter City at Anfield having scored his first senior goal in the original tie earlier this month.
