Liverpool have reportedly approached former manager Rafael Benitez as part of their search to find Kenny Dalglish's replacement.
Benitez left Anfield in 2010, prior to the arrival of the Reds' current owners, but John W Henry is said to be impressed by the Spaniard's CV - which includes bringing the Champions League trophy back to Anfield in 2005.
The club are said to be considering 12 candidates and, after being rejected by Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers, the owners have now spoken to Benitez, according to The Mirror.
Benitez has been out of management since he resigned from his position at Inter Milan 18 months ago.
