Simon Mignolet backs Divock Origi for stardom

Simon Mignolet says that Belgium and Liverpool teammate Divock Origi will take the Premier League by storm in his first season at Anfield.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has backed Belgium teammate Divock Origi to be a success at Anfield next season.

The 20-year-old striker joined the Reds last summer but was loaned back to Lille for the 2014-15 campaign.

Origi is expected to be involved in Brendan Rodgers's first-team plans next season, and Mignolet believes that the youngster will take the Premier League by storm.

"He's only young but on the other side he's also quite experienced, having played in Ligue 1 in France and with the Belgian national team," Mignolet told Liverpool's official magazine.

"He's got a lot of ability, he is quick and can score a goal and he is willing to work for the team and put pressure on defences.

"He's got a great attitude, so what more do you want? I am looking forward to when he is going to join."

Origi netted 11 times in 22 Ligue 1 appearances for the French club last season.
