Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should elect to make a few changes to his first XI for Saturday lunchtime's Premier League kickoff with Newcastle United.

The Reds boss is still without Roberto Firmino due to a foot injury and Curtis Jones due to illness, but Kostas Tsimikas could make his comeback this weekend.

The tight turnaround will not impact Alisson Becker's place in between the sticks, while Tsimikas's return means that Andy Robertson's spot at left-back is at risk with the Champions League in mind.

Ibrahima Konate could drop out and allow Joel Matip to partner Virgil van Dijk, and Klopp may even consider drafting in Joe Gomez in order to give Trent Alexander-Arnold a well-deserved rest.

Naby Keita could also come back into the engine room alongside Fabinho and Jordan Henderson - the latter of whom represents a fresher option than Thiago Alcantara at present.

Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz were both taken off before the full-time whistle on Wednesday night, but only the former may hold his place at the tip of the attack as Diogo Jota returns for the latter.

Mohamed Salah should therefore hold his place on the right, with the 29-year-old aiming to become the first player in Liverpool history to register a goal and assist in the same Premier League game for a seventh time in a single season.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Henderson, Fabinho, Keita; Salah, Mane, Jota
