Alex Teixeira has reportedly informed Shakhtar Donetsk that he wants to move to Liverpool this transfer window.
Recent reports suggested that Jurgen Klopp's side had made a £25m bid for the 26-year-old midfielder, who has scored 26 times in 25 appearances in all competitions this season.
According to Sky Sports News, Teixeira's representatives are now waiting to hear from the Ukrainian side about whether they will entertain a deal for a player they value at £40m.
Teixeira is currently with the rest of the Shakhtar squad in Florida as part of a warm weather training camp during the Ukrainian Premier League's winter break.
