Atletico Madrid are reportedly set to rival city neighbours Real Madrid for the signature of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

Atletico Madrid will reportedly rival their city neighbours Real Madrid for the signature of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

Suarez recently claimed that he is looking to leave the Reds, with the nine-time European Champions keen to sign him.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Atletico are also willing to make a move for the Uruguayan with a bidding war set to begin between the two clubs.

Atleti will use the £50m they received for Radamel Falcao's move to Monaco to launch a bid for the Reds forward.

Suarez scored 30 goals in 44 appearances for Liverpool last season but is currently four matches into a 10-game suspension after he bit the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in April.
