Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has insisted that talk of Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke being on his way to Ibrox is "just speculation".
Gerrard is keen to add more firepower to his squad before the transfer window closes at the end of the month and has been tipped to return to his former club for Solanke.
The 20-year-old is well down the pecking order for a starting spot at Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp admits that he will have to trim his squad in the next few weeks.
Asked if a move was close to being completed, though, Reds legend Gerrard suggested that there was nothing concrete in place.
"It's speculation, it's just speculation," he told reporters, before adding that he will "possibly" look to bring in another player from the English top flight.
Scottish clubs can make signings up until August 31.
