Report: Liverpool interested in Portsmouth striker Conor Chaplin

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants to bring Portsmouth teenager Conor Chaplin to Anfield, according to reports.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has expressed an interest in signing Portsmouth teenager Conor Chaplin, according to reports.

The 18-year-old striker, who made his senior debut for Pompey in a home defeat to Accrington Stanley last December, has scored four goals this season.

According to the Daily Star, the Anfield boss is eager to bolster its Under-21 team's ranks, and Chaplin has been earmarked as a potential star of the future.

Chaplin signed his first professional contract at Fratton Park last year, and is rated so highly at the South Coast club that he was offered a new three-year deal in September.
