Brendan Rodgers: Everton draw a "good point" for Liverpool

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that his side's 1-1 draw at Everton is a "good point", and that the team did well to protect the result.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that his side's 1-1 draw at Everton was a good result.

The Reds took the lead on 41 minutes through Danny Ings, before Romelu Lukaku equalised on the stroke of half time, and Rodgers believes that his team did well to protect the point in the second half.

"I thought that we were the better team in first half, a real threat and we deservedly took lead," Rodgers told Sky Sports News. "I'm disappointed with the goal as it was a mistake.

"In the second half, we knew we would come under pressure and the game became counter-attacking for us. I'm proud of the players.

"It is a very good point. It is a difficult place to come. We looked like we were getting better in our attack and defensively we were more cohesive."

Liverpool will take on Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League fixture on October 17.
