Brendan Rodgers hoping to tie up at least one deal this week

Brendan Rodgers reveals that he is hoping to complete a deal for at least one new player by the end of the week.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he is hoping to complete at least one transfer deal before the squad leave for their tour of America at the end of the week.

The Reds have been linked with a number of players recently, including Real Madrid's Esteban Granero.

However, Rodgers refused to comment on any possible deals. He told reporters: "We've made three of four enquiries for players.

"We hope to conclude one deal this week, maybe two.

"A whole raft of players have been linked but I will never speak publicly about specific targets."

Rodgers has yet to sign a new player since taking over at Anfield.
