Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool "will look at" bringing in replacement goalkeeper

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers "will look at" bringing in a replacement goalkeeper after seeing Brad Jones limp off the field against Burnley.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he may be forced to turn to the emergency loan market to bring in a replacement goalkeeper should the injury picked up by Brad Jones at Burnley prove to be a long-term problem.

The 32-year-old has deputised in place of Simon Mignolet in recent weeks after the Belgian stopper was dropped to the bench "indefinitely" following a spate of bad performances.

However, with Jones having picked up a thigh strain during the warm-up ahead of the Reds' 1-0 victory at Turf Moor, which forced him to leave the field 15 minutes into the game, Rodgers revealed that he will consider looking elsewhere.

"We will look at [a loan deal]," he told reporters. "If [Jones] is missing out, we have young Danny Ward and he will come on to the bench."

Liverpool moved up one place to ninth in the Premier League table following today's win against the Clarets.
