Barcelona reportedly do not have space in their budget to sign another player before this summer's transfer window closes for business.

Barcelona will reportedly not be making any late additions to their squad, with the Catalan outfit being forced to admit defeat in their pursuit of a new midfielder late in the transfer window.

Marc Bernal's season-ending knee injury had led to Barcelona entering the midfield market, with the club said to have made a loan offer for Liverpool's Stefan Bajcetic, but the 19-year-old is closing in on a loan switch to Red Bull Salzburg.

According to Marca, Barcelona will not be signing any further players before the transfer window closes, with Pau Victor and Dani Olmo therefore set to be their only additions during the summer market.

The report claims that the Catalan outfit do not have room in their budget to bring in another player, as they were only able to register Olmo with La Liga due to Andreas Christensen's injury.

Barcelona were heavily linked with Nico Williams earlier this summer, and a deal for the Spain star was thought to be close at one stage, but he will now be staying with Athletic Bilbao for the 2024-25 campaign.

Barcelona's summer transfer business is 'closed'

There has been speculation surrounding the future of Eric Garcia, with Girona thought to be keen to re-sign him after a successful loan spell during the 2023-24 campaign.

However, Garcia will allegedly be staying, with the Spaniard also capable of operating in midfield, which is an area that Barcelona are currently struggling in due to absentees.

Indeed, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong are currently sidelined, while Bernal is out for the season, so Marc Casado could receive regular action in the coming months alongside Pedri and Fermin Lopez.

Barcelona signed Victor on a permanent basis from Girona earlier this summer after the forward impressed for Barcelona B last season, and he has featured in all three of their La Liga fixtures this term.

Meanwhile, OImo scored on his debut against Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday, with Barcelona winning all three of their La Liga matches this season to top the table with nine points.

Which players have left Barcelona this summer?

Mikayil Faye has been Barcelona's biggest departure this summer in terms of price, while Julian Araujo, Chadi Riad, Marc Guiu and Estanis Pedrola have all moved on for transfer fees this summer.

There have been four further exits on free transfers, with Sergino Dest, Ilkay Gundogan, Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso ending their time at the club.

Meanwhile, Vitor Roque, Clement Lenglet, Alex Valle and Oriol Romeu have departed on loan.

Ronald Araujo, De Jong and Raphinha are among the high-profile players to be linked with Barcelona exits this summer, but all three will be remaining with the club.

There will be no returns for either Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo, meanwhile, with the former joining Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, while the latter has made the switch to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal from Manchester City.
