Deadline-day signing Manuel Akanji has been named in the Manchester City starting lineup to face Sevilla in their opening Group G fixture in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old is one of three changes made to Pep Guardiola's first XI following last weekend's 1-1 draw at Aston Villa, with Sergio Gomez and Jack Grealish also handed a start in Spain.
Akanji – who is making his City debut at centre-back alongside Ruben Dias – and Gomez have both been brought into the defence at the expense of Kyle Walker and John Stones, who are both ruled out with muscle injuries.
With Ilkay Gundogan dropping to the substitutes' bench, Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri are joined in midfield by Bernardo Silva, who will move back into centre-midfield after playing in the front three against Villa.
In attack, goal machine Erling Braut Haaland – who has scored 23 goals in just 19 Champions League appearances with Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund – leads the line for the Citizens, with Grealish and Phil Foden providing support from the flanks.
As for Sevilla, former Man City trio Jesus Navas, Fernando and Karim Rekik are all named in the matchday squad for the hosts, with the former starting at right-back and the latter two named on the substitutes' bench.
