Sergio Aguero: Wilfried Bony a "valuable addition" to Manchester City squad

Sergio Aguero believes that Manchester City were "very unfortunate" to have been left without a number of key players due to injury problems earlier this season.

Sergio Aguero believes that the recent addition of Wilfried Bony to the Manchester City ranks will offer the club a major boost in the remaining months of the campaign.

The Citizens have been hit by numerous injury issues this season, which at one stage saw James Milner fielded as the furthest man forward in attack, although ahead of their meeting with Newcastle United this weekend the champions have a near fully-fit squad to choose from.

Alongside this, the Argentina international himself appears to be back to his best form following a sluggish return from a knee injury, and he is now eyeing up a strong finish to the campaign.

"We were very unfortunate to have so many injured strikers simultaneously," Aguero told the club's official website. "The boys handled it very well, though. It's not easy to play in someone else's position.

"That said, I thought they were quite effective and we initially continued our winning run. Now we are back to full strength and we have also added to our squad. I think Wilfried Bony is a valuable addition to bolster our ranks for the final months of the season."

City currently trail Premier League league leaders Chelsea by seven points, with 13 games of the term still to play.
