Reports in Russia have claimed that Roberto Mancini has quit Manchester City to become the new manager of Russia.
Speculation linking Mancini with the vacant Russia post emerged last week and now he has reportedly signed a deal.
Artur Petrosyan, chief football editor of Sportbox.ru, wrote on Twitter today: "Roberto Mancini is to start working in Russia on 15 July. Will be earning 7,2 mln euro per year.IF the contract signed by him is legitimate!
"So the question is if the contract secretly signed by Mancini and FA president (Sergei) Fursenko who's been recently sacked is valid. This is Russia.
"So seems like no matter how things will turn out #MCFC will have a new manager soon."
If the move proves to be true then it would be a shock move by Italian Mancini, who led City to their first top-flight success in 44 years last season.
