James Milner: "Chelsea have a big lead now"

James Milner admits that Man City's 1-1 home draw with Hull City has left them with a lot of ground to make up in the title race, with Chelsea now seven points clear.

James Milner has admitted that Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Hull City this afternoon has left them with a lot of ground to make up in the title race.

The midfielder's stoppage-time free kick salvaged the champions a point at the Etihad Stadium, but they fall seven behind Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.

Milner conceded that City were "not good enough" as they failed to win for a third home game in succession.

"It was not good enough," he told reporters. "Coming off the back of a good performance last week we knew it would be tough against a spirited side but we've slipped up at home again.

"You can look at a few things but over 90 minutes we didn't do what we should have done. It is disappointing again but we need to re-group and come back again.

"You look at our success in recent seasons and it was built on solid home form. It shows we now need to make up the ground away from home. Chelsea have a big lead now."

City made up an eight-point deficit to catch rivals Manchester United and win the title in the 2011-12 season.
