Gary Neville expects Manchester City to consider Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that Manchester City will eventually sack Roberto Mancini for either Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that Manchester City will eventually consider appointing either ex-Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola or Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho.

Current City coach Roberto Mancini has come under pressure after reports emerged claiming that the Premier League champions may consider dismissing the Italian if he fails to lead his side to the same glory this season.

"Roberto Mancini deserves more time but it is not a ridiculous suggestion to think City would not consider making a change if he doesn't win the league," talkSPORT quotes Neville as saying.

"Whilst Roberto Mancini continues to be successful he should stay in his job but it does feel like one day Mourinho or Guardiola will end up there.

"They have a new chief executive and a new director of football who presumably have the ear of the owner. It might be three or five years but eventually they will want to stamp their mark on the club and Mourinho and Guardiola have to be pretty high on the list."

Meanwhile, Mourinho has been heavily linked with replacing Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
