Manuel Pellegrini dismisses one-man team notion

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini admits that striker Sergio Aguero is a "very good player", but refutes the notion that his side are a one-man team.

Manuel Pellegrini has shrugged off suggestions that his Manchester City team are overly reliant on talisman Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine took his total for the season to 19 after scoring twice in tonight's 4-1 win away to Sunderland, but Pellegrini insists that his side cannot be classified as a one-man team.

"This team is not just about Aguero though," he told reporters.

"He is a very good player but the team have come here again and played the same way we did last season - we dominated the game and we have players in high performance.

"We are playing very well and we repeated the same performance we did against Southampton - we were very strong. It's very important to be an attractive, offensive team for the fans."

The reigning Premier League champions stay second in the table, six points behind Chelsea, after thumping the Black Cats.
