Manuel Pellegrini 'hasn't considered January additions'

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini reveals that the club are yet to discuss the possibility of adding to their squad in the January transfer window.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that they are yet to discuss the possibility of adding to the squad in the upcoming transfer window.

The Citizens have been tipped to strengthen in defence with influential captain Vincent Kompany, Matija Nastasic and Martin Demichelis all suffering with injury problems throughout the first half of the season.

While admitting that no Premier League club could completely rule out January activity, Pellegrini has hinted that he is content with the options that he currently has to choose from.

"For the moment we are not talking about that," Pellegrini told reporters. "We are always analysing what we need and what we don't need.

"There is the possibility of the transfer window for every club - we will see what we're going to do over the next few days."

Porto centre-back Nicolas Otamendi has been mooted a potential City target.
