Manuel Pellegrini: 'Pressure still on Manchester City'

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists that there is still plenty of pressure on his team, even though they won the Premier League title last season.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that there is still plenty of pressure on his team, despite winning the Premier League last season.

The Blues clinched their second title in three years after overtaking Liverpool in the final few games of the campaign.

Although Pellegrini was able to lift the trophy in his first season in charge, the Chilean does not expect City to be given an easy ride this term.

"I don't think we have the pressure off," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "All the other teams are bringing in important players and we'll have another very tough Premier League season. The pressure will continue for all the big teams."

Manchester City are back in pre-season action tonight when they face Liverpool in New York.
