Team News: Willy Caballero in goal for Manchester City

Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero is given his second Premier League start in between the sticks for Thursday's clash against Sunderland at the Etihad.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has opted to give Willy Caballero his second Premier League start in between the sticks for this afternoon's clash against Sunderland at the Etihad.

This means that Joe Hart has to make do with a place on the bench, while Frank Lampard, who has extended his loan deal with the Etihad outfit until the end of the season, is also among the substitutes.

The Citizens have made a total of four changes for today's match, with Aleksandr Kolarov, Fernando and James Milner out of the starting XI in place of Gael Clichy, Yaya Toure and Stefan Jovetic.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has recalled former City midfielder Jack Rodwell, while Will Buckley also starts in the centre of the park as Lee Cattermole is ruled out with a groin injury.

Sebastian Larsson is included in the starting XI despite having limped off with an ankle injury in the draw against Aston Villa, while fellow midfielder Liam Bridcutt misses out after suffering concussion at the weekend.

Man City: Caballero, Zabaleta, Mangala, Demichelis, Clichy, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, Nasri, Silva, Navas, Jovetic
Subs: Hart, Kolarov, Milner, Sagna, Lampard, Sinclair, Boyata

Sunderland: Pantilimon, Vergini, Jones, Brown, O'Shea, Rodwell, Larsson, Gomez, Johnson, Buckley, Wickham
Subs: Fletcher, Cabral, Altidore, Alvarez, Coates, Giaccherini, Mannone
