Manchester City will reportedly open contract talks with Gareth Barry in January.
The 31-year-old's current deal will expire at the end of next season and it had been suggested that City would allow the England international to move on.
However, according to Goal.com, Roberto Mancini is keen to keep Barry at the Etihad and will offer him an extension in the New Year.
Barry joined City from Aston Villa in 2009.
