Manchester City 'keen to offload Jack Rodwell'

Everton and West Bromwich Albion are said to be leading the race to sign Jack Rodwell from Manchester City.

Manchester City are said to be keen to offload midfielder Jack Rodwell following the arrival of Fernando at the Etihad Stadium.

The 23-year-old, who has made just seven starts for the Sky Blues, has been strongly linked with both West Bromwich Albion and former club Everton.

Rodwell is not part of City boss Manuel Pellegrini's first-team plans next season and has now been pushed further down the pecking order, according to The Mirror.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez attempted to take the midfielder on loan in January, while West Brom coach Alan Irvine knows the player well from his time as assistant boss as Goodison Park.
