Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia will reportedly sign a five-year contract with Barcelona in April.

Eric Garcia will reportedly sign a five-year contract with Barcelona in April.

The 20-year-old was strongly linked with the Catalan giants last summer and again in January, but both transfer windows passed with the centre-back still at Manchester City.

Garcia's deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire at the end of June, though, and he is widely expected to leave Pep Guardiola's side on a free transfer.

Barca have long been regarded as the favourites for the Spain international, and according to Sport, the youngster is set to pen a five-year contract with Ronald Koeman's side.

The report claims that the La Liga club's new president Joan Laporta will secure the deal in April.

Garcia has made 10 appearances for Man City during the 2020-21 campaign, including the final 15 minutes of his team's 3-0 win over Fulham last time out in the Premier League.
