Joao Felix calls on Barcelona to sign "very good" Bernardo Silva amid speculation surrounding the attacker's future at Manchester City.

Joao Felix has called on Barcelona to sign "very good" Bernardo Silva, with the Catalan outfit believed to have a long-term interest in the Manchester City attacker.

Bernardo penned a new deal at the Etihad Stadium last August, with his terms running until June 2026, but there remains speculation surrounding his future in Manchester.

At the start of 2023, the Portugal international expressed a desire to begin a "new project" away from the Etihad Stadium, and Barcelona are said to be long-term admirers of the attacker.

The 29-year-old has again been a vital player for Pep Guardiola's side this season, featuring on 38 occasions, scoring nine goals and registering five assists in the process.

Meanwhile, he has made 344 appearances for the Citizens since arriving from Monaco in 2017, scoring 64 goals and registering 64 assists.

Barcelona thought to be long-term admirers of Bernardo

Felix plays alongside Bernardo for Portugal, and the former, who is currently on loan at Barcelona from Atletico Madrid, has urged the Catalan outfit to move for the Man City attacker.

"Bring Bernardo Silva, bring him. He is very good and even better as a person," Felix said in an interview with journalist Gerard Romero.

"He asks me about Barcelona, he has family here. He asks me how things are here. I told him that everything was fine for him to come.

"If I were Deco (Barcelona sporting director) for a day I would sign Bernardo Silva, without a doubt."

According to Barca Universal, the release clause in Bernardo's Man City contract is around €58m (£49.7m), with would prove problematic for Barcelona this summer due to their financial issues.

Felix looking to earn permanent move to Barcelona

Felix is bidding to secure a permanent switch to Barcelona this summer, but it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached with Atletico over an exit.

The 24-year-old has been a regular for Xavi's side this season, featuring on 35 occasions, scoring nine goals and registering six assists in the process.

Felix penned a long-term deal with Atletico before his loan move to Camp Nou, though, and he has a contract with Diego Simeone's side until the summer of 2029.

A return to the Red and Whites is seen as unlikely due to the alleged breakdown in his relationship with Simeone, which led to a loan switch to Chelsea in January 2023.

Atletico will not accept a cut-price deal this summer, though, and with Barcelona having well-documented financial issues, it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached.
