Lionel Messi: 'I want to retire at Barcelona'

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi says that he wants to "retire" at the Spanish club.

Lionel Messi has once more dismissed suggestions that he could leave Barcelona this summer.

Recent reports had claimed that Manchester City were confident of prizing the 26-year-old from the Camp Nou at the end of the season.

However, the Argentine, who became Barcelona's all-time leading scorer in Sunday's 7-0 win over Osasuna, has insisted that he wants to retire at the Spanish club.

"My objective is to retire here at Barca. As long as people want, I will continue. I'm happy here," he told reporters following the match.

Messi has scored 28 times this season.
