David Platt doesn't expect January transfers

Man City assistant boss David Platt doesn't think that his side will make any signings in the January transfer window.

Manchester City assistant boss David Platt has played down the possibility of his side making moves in the January transfer window.

City have been linked with a number of players after falling seven points behind rivals Manchester United in the title race, including speculative bids for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao.

However, Platt believes that the type of players City would be looking at will be chasing honours with their current sides and so would be unlikely to join the club in January.

"The kind of players you would want to improve a squad like Manchester City are invariably already playing for the top teams that are involved in chasing honours," said Platt.

"I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't do any business."

City have lost three of their last five games in all competitions, and face Norwich City at Carrow Road in their next outing.
