Brighton boss Gus Poyet admits that he is keen to sign Wayne Bridge on a permanent deal from Manchester City.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has admitted that he wants to extend Wayne Bridge's stay at the club.

Former England international Bridge is currently on a season-long loan at the Amex Stadium from Manchester City.

"We are trying to be realistic and wait," said Poyet. "At the right time we will talk for sure because you can see he is different class."

Bridge, who has scored two goals so far for the Seagulls this season, will be a free agent at the end of the campaign.
