QPR boss Neil Warnock is preparing an ambitious bid to sign Manchester City outcast Nigel de Jong on loan, according to The Mirror.
The 26-year-old has not started a Premier League game for City since November, and there have been claims that he is keen to leave the club in the winter transfer window.
Warnock will be given substantial funds by chairman Tony Fernandes in January, as he attempts to avoid an instant return to the Championship.
"The board know we need some more players and they have been very supportive. We are on the lookout for four or five," said Warnock.
QPR will attempt to move into the top half of the table when they welcome Manchester United to Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon.
