Valencia are reportedly still confident of signing Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo.
The Spanish international moved to City from Sevilla last summer and hit the goal trail in his first few months for the Premier League club.
The goals dried up in the second half of the season, however, and it is understood that the player is keen on a return to his home nation.
According to AS, Valencia are still optimistic of securing a deal, which would be a loan with the view to a future purchase.
Negredo is currently nursing a metatarsal injury.
