Manchester City midfielder David Silva reportedly decides to stall talks over a new contract amid interest from AC Milan.

AC Milan have reportedly shown an interest in signing Manchester City midfielder David Silva.

Since signing for City in 2010, Silva has netted 51 goals in 314 appearances in all competitions, while the Spaniard has impressed at the start of the current campaign.

There are just under two years remaining on Silva's contract at the Etihad Stadium but according to Tuttomercatoweb, the playmaker has opted to hold back from entertaining fresh terms.

That stance allegedly comes from AC Milan contemplating a move for the 31-year-old, who is likely to consider his future in the City first team given the signing of Bernardo Silva from Monaco.

As it stands, Silva remains one of the first names on Pep Guardiola's team sheet, with the club's head coach selecting the former Valencia man in each of his starting lineups for the Premier League and Champions League.

However, Silva will be 33 at the end of his contract, and Milan are able to offer him a fresh challenge as the Italian giants look to end Juventus's dominance at the top of Serie A.
