David Moyes relishing Champions League task

David Moyes cannot wait for his first taste of action in the group stages of the Champions League.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has said that he is looking forward to taking charge of his first Champions League game at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils kick off their European quest at home to Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow.

Moyes guided Everton to a fourth-place finish in 2005, but his team were knocked out by Villarreal in the qualifying stages.

The Scot said that he is now relishing the task of reaching the latter stages of the competition.

"I am really looking forward to the Champions League," Moyes told reporters. "I have been there with Everton but we didn't quite make the group stages.

"This is something different. I'm now managing a club which is used to getting close to the final stages and I will try and do that again."

United's group also includes Real Sociedad and Shakhtar Donetsk.
