Mark Hughes questions England manager Roy Hodgson's decision to not consider Paul Scholes for Euro 2012.

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has claimed that Paul Scholes should have been considered for Euro 2012 by England manager Roy Hodgson.

Scholes came out of retirement for Manchester United in January and many people urged Hodgson to persuade the midfielder to join the England squad for this summer's tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

Hughes told the Daily Mail: "They will miss talent and experience so I wonder if they thought about a call to Paul Scholes.

"He came out of retirement for Manchester United and was fantastic. He doesn't give the ball away. I know Paul drew a line under his international career, but it would have been a call worth making. Just in case."

England face Belgium at Wembley on Saturday evening in their final match before the beginning of Euro 2012.
