England manager Gareth Southgate is reportedly expected to recall Manchester City's Phil Foden for their Euro 2020 last-16 clash against Germany on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old was left out of the 23-man squad for England's final group game against Czech Republic, but Southgate insisted that was based on precaution as Foden was on a yellow card.
Southgate has a decision to make on whether Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount will be available for selection after the pair had to self isolate and train alone following the game against Scotland.
Sky Sports News reports that Foden is likely to start alongside Harry Kane and club teammate Raheem Sterling in a front three for England, warding off competition from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
Borussia Dortmund's Sancho has only played six minutes at this summer's tournament and Southgate has come under pressure after leaving the Manchester United-linked winger out of the side, following an impressive season for the German giants.
Foden made his senior international debut last September and has gone on to score two goals in eight caps, after being part of the Under-17 side which won the World Cup in 2017.
